RHYTHM OF THE DAY
8:30-9:00 Arrival- Good morning greetings. Parent will sign-in. Child will find name and place on our attendance tree. Child will put lunch on shelf in the classroom, hang up jacket and place school bag on hook in cubby. Slippers may be put on during this time. Please have your child try and use the bathroom and wash hands. Say “goodbye” and your child will engage in free play.
9:00-9:15 Morning Circle- Greeting, morning song, mindful techniques, calendar/weather. Whole group lessons will be introduced if needed. We may also share news using our class talking stick.
9:15-9:30- Bathroom- Bathroom and wash hands for snack.
9:30-9:45- Snack- Whole class snack. We will gather together for snack and thank the child for sharing their food with us. Our older children may write their snack menu and read it to the class.
9:45-11:00 Play/work Cycle- Children are free to choose any area that they would like to play in using the choice board. Individual lessons will be taught. * A special music/yoga class may be offered.
11:00- 11:20 Afternoon Circle- Music, dancing, movement and story.
11:20-11:35 Bathroom- Wash hands for lunch.
11:35-12:00 Lunch Time- We will all sit down together. We will say a poem and eat our lunch that we brought from home. We will each clean up after ourselves when we are done.
12:00-12:15 Prepare for the outdoors. Dress and use the bathroom if needed.
12:15-1:15 Outside Time-Room to run, play and explore in our outdoor classroom. We will occasionally have lunch/snack outside in nice weather.
1:15-1:30 Departure- Parent will sign child out. We will sing our departure song and share stories together. Child will gather lunch and belongings to go home.
